Vinyl Vibes: Liang Lawrence – "Letters to myself & What’s Dead and Gone"

Liang Lawrence might only be a few releases in, but she’s already carving out a space where intimacy feels anthemic. Her songs carry the softness of bedroom folk and the raw edge of indie pop, stitched together with lyrics that sound like they were lifted from the margins of a diary. She can make a whispered line land like a confession and a simple hook echo like gospel.

What YaraGlow Members Should Know 🎵

Born in East London to English and Chinese parents, Liang brings both fragility and fire to her music. She started uploading demos in her teens, small songs that spread quietly but fiercely across fan circles. Now in her twenties, she’s been nominated for a Rising Star Ivor Novello and tipped by tastemakers as one to watch.

Her debut EP letters to myself introduced her as a voice you couldn’t shake off, while follow-up What’s Dead and Gone showed a songwriter unafraid to tackle grief, memory and resilience with unflinching honesty.

Liang’s music is built for moments that feel too ordinary to matter until you realise they’re the ones that define you... a long walk home, a quiet train ride, the hours before dawn when you’re still wide awake.

Why we love her:

She reminds us that vulnerability is a strength. Liang writes about the push and pull of belonging, about loss that lingers and hope that refuses to die. Her songs don’t demand your attention, they earn it, and once they have it, they stay.

At YaraGlow, we love artists who soundtrack both the everyday and the in-between, who make you feel seen in your contradictions. Liang Lawrence is exactly that.

Final Note

Liang makes music that feels like overhearing your own heart. Gentle, sharp, and unforgettable. She’s one to keep close, because her songs have a way of finding you when you most need them.
